- 11 - 8 pm: Celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls with some of my fellow explorers! ("On Wednesdays, we wear pink." And pink did we wear!)
- 7 pm: Ate Easter dinner with my roomies, which was catered by my lovely Aunt Lisa!
- 6 - 12 pm: Had a wonderful day with Aunt Lisa! We ate at Earl of Sandwich (nommmm!) and got all the deals at Downtown Disney and Cast Connections. We also explored around The Grand Floridian and saw these beautiful, art-crafted, and totally edible Easter eggs!
Look how pretty!! =)
- 10:11 am (to be exact): Got a call from Ernesto, my Disney recruiter, offering me ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP!!!!!!!! Clearly, I was and still am very excited!!! Ernesto explained to me how these internships are super hard to get, so I must have really impressed them and done a good job, which was an incredibly nice thing to hear.
My favorite part was though asking him which PI I got. See, I had a feeling something good was happening because two days before, I got an email asking to schedule a "brief phone call", which 99% of the time is code for "You got a job!" So, I immediately looked at my Dashboard, and to my surprise, I had movement under "Specialist." I had applied for three PIs: 1) Instructor, 2) Line of Business, and 3) Specialist.
Considering I have a degree in Elementary and I was second in line last term for Instructor, I thought if I got anything, it would be that internship. Next up, I thought maybe LOB because of my previous experience in Journalism and working for artist Larry Elmore. I applied for Specialist because I so love our WE team, and thought maybe there was a little shred of hope I could stay a part of it for a few more months.
However, the Specialist PI was really two: either with WE or over at DAKL. When I got the call from Ernesto, he never specified exactly which location. Here is our conversation when he asked the standard, "Do you have any questions?":
Ernesto: "Well, actually I am kind of confused. It says WE under it..."
Me: "THAT STANDS FOR WILDERNESS EXPLORER!! I get to stay with my team, YAY!!!!"
When I say it is such an honor and I am beyond shocked, I truly mean it. I did not see this coming at all, but I am thrilled to get started and help the next group of explorers have adventures! Plus, I get to stay until January 3rd, which means I get to celebrate the holidays, my 25th birthday, and so much more at Disney! I am such a lucky duck! =) =) =)
