Cahil is one of my very best friends from the Disney College Program (what what DCP Fall 2012!) and in life in general...and he came to visit my hometown of Nashville! We met as coworkers at the Wildlife Express Train at Disney's Animal Kingdom and bonded over our love for nerdy things, talking relationships, and adoring Taylor Swift.
So I can't sleep! Instead of looking on Instagram and Vine for another hour (ha!), I thought I share my latest adventure!
I was so excited to see him because we have so many good memories and adventures together. Plus he lives in California, so we don't get to see each other that often. It was super cool to be able to spend almost a week together!
I have a lot of pride in my city, so it was fun to show it off to Cahil. He loved Nashville a lot, which made me SO happy! We went basically everywhere: 12 South, Downtown on Broadway, Midtown and Demonbruen, East Nashville, and Brentwood (my neck of the woods :P).
Luckily for me, Cahil was super stoked about trying new restaurants and coffee shops. We also watched a Nashville Sounds baseball game, which I highly suggest - the stadium is so cool! Plus, Cahil taught me all about baseball!
Cahil works for a music label out in Cali called Pure Noise Records and he came to the city for a few work related projects. It was so cool to see what his job entails and get to experience the perks of working in the music world!
Hi all! It is unbelievable, but my first year of teaching will be over in 25 days. I am so proud of my little kinders and can already feel myself getting proud/sad to see them leave as 1st graders! I know May will be BUSY with field days, end-of-year projects, and Mother's Day, on top of my life outside of school...but it will definitely be a fun month too!
PLUS, I am celebrating my first year of teaching with a little trip to the most magical place on Earth: that's right - Disney World! I will be flying down solo on May 31st and then Drew joins me two days later. I am so thankful I get to work a Wilderness Explorer shift and then see how much the parks have changed. Drew and I have had major Disney vibes lately, so we are beyond pumped!
I will take a ton of photos to share, and hopefully some new content too!
Speaking of photos, here are some reflecting my adventures over the past few weeks!
Today is my birthday and I loveeee birthdays! Last year I went big, but this year I wanted something more low key. Yesterday, me and my beautiful momma did one of my favorite activities: SHOP! =P Bought too many dresses (my favorite) and also sponsored a child on the Angel Tree, which is something I have always wanted to do.
Later that night, Shannon joined us for a meal at Lockland Table. I have been dying to go here. Momma and I took a cooking class with the lead chef a few years ago before he opened the restaurant. I am so glad we went because it was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. If you are ever in Nashville, I highly recommend it!
And for today, I wanted to go see the new and final Hunger Games! It is a birthday tradition for me to see it, as they always come out around my birthday. Afterwards, me and my best gal pals met up for some Noodles and Company and Sweet CeCe's, which both companies sent me free entree/ice cream coupons woohoo! (Sign up for their email and you will get one too on your birthday!)
Today has been a wonderful, sweet day and all my friends and family have made me feel so loved. In a few days, I will be heading to see some more of my Florida family. And who knows, maybe I will even make my way towards the "most magical place on Earth"... =D
Last week, I got to travel up north to my beloved Nashville and
Kentucky to see family, friends, and eat so much good food.
The above picture explains my reaction perfectly. <3
Day one consisted of a momma + brittany day around Nashville. We hit a plethora of spots, including the coolest coffee joint ever (Barista Parlor - check it out!), some shopping, the East End, the West End, and everything in between. We ended at this legit Irish restaurant located in The Gulch. It was a dream of a day!
It was a jam packed trip, but so wonderful.
Here's to another trip like this in the (hopefully) near future! =)
A permanent believer that "Adventure is out there" and a DAK girl for life!
